This ENDECOTTS EFL 2000 Vibratory sieve shaker is used by many DOTS because of it's ability to handle 8" as well as 12" sieves, without a seperate attachment. It will handle up to 3 kg , 3/4" rock, as well as fines. It is also designed for quiet operation, eliminating the need for a seperate sound enclosure.
Commonly used sieve shakers based on the original Maryanne and RoTap Sieve Shakers. Attachments are available for 8" or 12" sieves.
Often larger aggregates are sifted by hand, down to 1" or 3/4" particles, which can be sifted more effectively by a laboratory sieve shaker, along with fines. A series of twelve inch sieves are generally used to seperate materials between 1" and the amount retained on a #10 (2.0 mm) sieve. *AASHTO M92.
Aggregate fines, defined as those that pass through the #10 sieve, are generally run on 8" sieves.
